Highlander Academy is transitioning to Flora Macdonald Academy on June 1, 2026. This new FMA website is currently under construction. Most aspects should be fully functional by April 15th.

For over 130 years the building that houses Flora
Macdonald Academy has functioned as a school.

It has fostered thousands of young minds, having

withstood hurricanes, tornadoes, a fire, and

several changes of hands. This resilient institution

transitioned and evolved with each new

circumstance to become exactly what our

community needed at that particular time.

With this recent change in name, we are

rededicating ourselves to serving the families of

our area by providing a stable, safe place for our children to learn and grow. We are committed to creating a school culture that focuses on community. Building that culture requires the input of dedicated educators, strong administrators, proud students, and families who want more for their children. Our children are our greatest commodity and we must create a school community worthy of them.
